Collaborative Partnership - International Cultural Exchange - Seniors Health and Wellness

Marja Tuulikki Snyder

Marja is a native of Finland who has traveled to over 20 different countries, she speaks at least eight languages, and she is an established linguist and author with an extensive background in advanced research and history. She will inform our planning, design, and implementation of our community-specificpop-up early childhood and senior health, wellness, and advanced research initiatives – International Cultural Exchange.

Her long-time stewardship as a medical librarian, researcher in history, and a student of languages is invaluable to our advanced research, pre-development planning, design, engineering, and execution of our seniors’ initiatives within our sustainable community concept.

Marja is instrumental in our development of viable senior initiatives involving our Pop-up in-community training and immersion sessions. She is an avid swimmer, gardener, long distance nature walks in the Parks during which she collects natural plants, herbs, fruits, etc. to be used during one of her other favorite pastimes, cooking. We are using her experience in these “garden-to-table cooking skill sets to inform in-community Pop-up events planning.

Her substantial interest in Forrest walking and architecture is a match for the type of advanced research, planning, design, and training we are planning with our Architectural and Environment Initiative to be one of our main research and training focuses for our Coastal Communities Initiative at the Nerve Center site in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Her insights are educating our development process for critical initiatives such as garden-to-table, architecture and the environment (emergency/disaster preparedness) and seniors’ health, wellness, and fitness initiatives.

Since Marja’s native Finland is in a Nordic coastal region, and the proximity of the Arctic Circle provides a wealth of cultural exchange opportunities for our disaster and public emergency and climate change programs. Her cultural exchange will inform our development of community-specific healthy food sources, easy-to-apply sustainable technologies, and seniors’ survival skills in high-risk coastal and adjacent communities worldwide.
