Cabarete is a small seaside Caribbean village located on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic. Caberete is a sustainable community that has attracted tens of thousands of outdoor and water sports enthusiasts through the years. It is reportedly listed as one of the top five beaches in the world for wind sports, such as kiteboarding, windsurfing, and sailing.
The direct abundance of wind, water, and sun at this site is exactly the natural resources required to develop the direct research and immediate application of three of our main sustainable technologies (i.e. wind, sun, and water).
The site selection is also perfect for developing battle-tested easy-to-apply sustainable technologies training, and programs to be used for application worldwide during implementation of the Coastal Communities Initiative.
The project is designed for development as a self-contained Sustainable Community Marketplace and Village that will serve to advance the research, training, and practical application of easy-to-apply sustainable technologies integral to our overall Sustainable Urban Village (SUV) concept. We have named this location the North Coast Academy.
It is designed to be transformed into our IT, solar, easy-to-apply sustainable technologies, advanced research, training, certifications, and international workforce development “Nerve Center” for emergency, disaster and climate change preparedness in the Caribbean region. This community provide a target-rich environment to conduct ongoing, advanced research that will be drive our disaster-resistance training initiatives worldwide.
Although we did not acquire our initial selected site at the old Ocean Sands Casino building and site (side bar) pre-pandemic, our extensive research during the initiation of the pre-development analysis, and subsequent site adaptable design approach revealed that multiple sites in this north coastal community are well-suited for a new selection of sites – post-pandemic. We look to facilitate the restart our pre-development analysis, site selection and acquisition in early 2026.
We'd love to hear from you! If you have any questions or want to learn more about our Coastal Communities Initiative.
