Coastal Communities Intiative Approach

Hub Within the Village

We have identified that there is a growing need for a more grassroots transfer of advanced, easy-to-apply sustainable technologies, improved public education, training delivery systems, and innovative “out-of-box” economic development initiatives that are integrated across all local demographics, and harass the resources of small localized, community-specific, and private-public sector collaborations. Specifically, with indoor/outdoor public spaces that ...

“It is critical to develop hazard-resilient communities to prepare for these threats and enhance the ability of these communities to absorb impacts and bounce back. This preparation will reduce the lives lost in disasters, secure the economic stability of these communities, and support the health of our coastal ecosystems, including wetlands which are essential for reducing storm impacts on our coastal communities.”

Huntersville, North Carolina Site (Studio No. 1)

This site is designated as "Studio No. 1," and will serve as the "Nerve Center" for advanced research, planning, design, and training, as well as a proving ground for the practical application of architectural and natural environment public spaces initiatives. This development will inform and support the real estate development efforts of Space 6 Studios, focusing on creating Sustainable Urban Villages (SUVs) in coastal communities worldwide. The site will also be a training ground for pop-up emergency preparedness, climate change initiatives, and international cultural exchange efforts.

Additionally, it will provide a community-driven international marketplace accessible on smartphones, facilitating the selection of sustainable urban and vertical agricultural garden technologies, renewable power sources, and emergency preparedness, while promoting climate change initiatives.

Please see the full description of this site in "Our Sustainable Urban Villages" link above.

Practical Application of Easy-to-Apply Technology Integration

Through our Nerve Center site in Huntersville, North Carolina, and pre-event in-community Pop-up training, we directly provide well-researched and tested, easy-to-use sustainable technologies training, complemented by the ever-evolving high-end technology.

This is critical to begin an understanding, and use of all the tools in our community toolbox to facilitate better disaster and emergency preparedness.

Geodesic Domes

Our practical application of the use of Geodesic Domes are well-planned, designed, and geographically located within designated areas. They will be used as a “showcase prototype” for disaster resistance, environmentally friendly design, and the construction of urban assembly venues that are hurricane-resistant up to 125mph to 150mph, which falls within the hurricane intensity range of Category 4 to 5. They come in sizes of 20 to 120 feet with removable coverings to enable environmentally friendly indoor/outdoor spaces.

They are designed to accommodate live, live-streamed or video movies, music, sports, and business & community events. They also incorporate video dome projection and Information Technology to facilitate displays & systems including electronic light shows, etc. that use onsite solar and human-powered electric power sources. More importantly, it will serve as a frontline advanced research and training resource in the design of hurricane, flood, and disaster-resistance multi-use assembly spaces.

The Domes will also enable hands-on, sustainable research, and practical application platform for the local and international community, and to promote the cross-transfer of community-based sustainable training, public awareness, emergency preparedness, cultural exchange events, and localize sustainable economic development initiatives.

Community Engagement and International Cultural Exchange

Our initial key team and partners were carefully selected for their ability to help implement the sustainability and cultural competence required for success of the Coastal Communities Initiative – globally. They are augmented by an international collaboration between universities, academic and research specialists, professionals, small and large business corporations, entrepreneurs, and local governmental and quasi-governmental stakeholders.

Pre-Disaster Pop-up Training to Address Real-Time Community-Specific Generational Gaps

Our Coastal Communities Initiative seeks to forge community partnerships with community-specific coastal communities to provide and promote well-researched, planned, design, engineering, and training for disaster, emergency, and climate change preparedness. This will help create organized local assistance for early childhood-to-seniors pre-event, during, and post-emergency survival and sustainability. These skill sets are critical for the development of ...
