Coastal Communities Approach

Hub Within the Village

The initiative strategically builds a foundation to create an environment of cultural competence, promoting community-specific small/micro-businesses and entrepreneurial skills training programs. These efforts support the creation of Sustainable Urban Villages (SUVs) through collaboration with local communities, businesses, educational institutions, and governmental entities, driving sustainable economic development and community-based initiatives in areas of shared interest. A key focus is on preparing coastal and adjacent communities for increased public emergencies due to natural and man-made disasters, and climate change events.

We have identified that there is a growing need for a more grassroots transfer of advanced easy-to-apply sustainable technologies, improved public education, training delivery systems, and innovative “out-of-box” economic development initiatives that are integrated across all local demographics, and harass the resources of small localized, community-specific, and private-public sector collaborations. Specifically, with indoor/outdoor public spaces that can accommodate, simultaneously emergency preparedness/climate change imperative, and the innovative use of community outdoor existing and new public spaces for multiple emergency and non-emergency uses.

We look to facilitate the immediate transference of our ongoing, web-based accessible advanced research and training, easy-to-apply sustainable technologies, and the use of robust culture exchange initiatives in the performing arts, entertainment, etc. to inform our planning, design and real estate development of healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable communities. Space 6 Studio refers to these efforts as establishing a community-specificHub within the Village.

Community-Specific, Ongoing, In-community Training Focus Areas

Healthy Food Source Urban & Vertical Agriculture Gardening * Portable Geodesic Dome Technologies * Disaster Resistance Design & Construction * Easy-to-Apply Sustainable Technologies * Health, Wellness and Fitness * Small and Micro-Business Training * International Cultural Exchange * Garden-to-Table Initiatives * Early Childhood, Youth & Seniors Training * Water Safety & Survival Training * Solar & Human-Powered Energy Source Training

Technology Integration

The initiative aims to strengthen local communities with user-friendly technologies, facilitating daily use by residents of all ages and providing in-community health and wellness resources. This scalable, portable, and low-cost approach addresses the development of robust disaster resistance and sustainable strategies responsive to community-specific needs of at-risk coastal communities. The planning, design, and engineering of existing and new public spaces are reimagined for emergency, non-emergency, and climate change events.

Huntersville, North Carolina Site (Studio No. 1)

This site is designated as "Studio No. 1," and will serve as the "Nerve Center" for advanced research, planning, design, and training, as well as a proving ground for the practical application of architectural and natural environment public spaces initiatives. This development will inform and support the real estate development efforts of Space 6 Studios, focusing on creating Sustainable Urban Villages (SUVs) in coastal communities worldwide. The site will also be a training ground for pop-up emergency preparedness, climate change initiatives, and international cultural exchange efforts. Additionally, it will provide a community-driven international marketplace accessible on smartphones, facilitating the selection of sustainable urban and vertical agricultural garden technologies, renewable power sources, and emergency preparedness, while promoting climate change initiatives.

Geodesic Domes

Our use of Geodesic Domes technologies are well-planned and designed to be used as a “showcase prototype” for disaster resistance, environmentally-friendly design, and construction of urban assembly venues. And are hurricane resistant up 125mph to 150mph which is in the hurricane intensity range of Category 4 to 5.

They are designed to accommodate live, live-streamed or video movies, music, sports, and business & community events. They also incorporate video dome projection and Information Technology to facilitate displays & systems including electronic light shows, etc. that use onsite solar and human-powered electric power sources. More importantly, it will serve as a frontline advanced research and training resource in the design of hurricane, flood, and disaster-resistance multi-use assembly spaces.

The Domes will also enable hands-on, sustainable research, and practical application platform for the local and international community, and to promote the cross-transfer of community-based sustainable training, public awareness, emergency preparedness, cultural exchange events, and localize sustainable economic development initiative.
